The power of team work

Hello everybody,
This will be a combination blog on both the First aid day and the mock UN. On both days team work and communication were key. We in this group are all strong leaders and sometimes it is hard for us all to talk in an unstructured setting. However we almost always seem to overcome our difficulties and find our place. On Sunday we were blindfolded and set loose in the forest with only ropes to find our way to the secret end point. This was truly designed to challenge our abilities both personal and as a group… and it did. After much frustration and wandering we made it to the end. Communication was key to our success, although I don’t think this activity was our shining moment. We did have difficulty, but it was certainly a great learning experience. On Wednesday we held a mock UN to debate about the Kyoto protocol. We were placed in groups and given a country which we had to act as in the Debates. This was very challenging as we were not necessarily defending what we really believe in. The group I was in was the USA and it seemed that we were under constant attack from other countries. Considering our situation I think we did extremely well. I felt like this activity really brought out our individual leadership styles. We later found out that we were placed in groups with similar styles and I could totally see that. I hope we can learn from any mistakes we made in the forest and great job to every one on both activities.
P.S. Great job “ammurrrrica” LOL
until next time.
