Lean on me.

Friday February 26th, 3 a.m in the morning,
“Lean on me when you’re not strong and I’ll be your friend, I’ll help you carry on” …. Those words echoed boldly through “The Station Hotel,” (our cozy little cabin), as we all sung our hearts out, sleepless, but joyful. A few teenage kids on a winter retreat, 3 am, sugar crazy, LIFE crazy, and together. Together in a dark small corner of the cabin, sheltered by sleeping bags and comforted by the warmth of familiar shoulders to lean on (literally). A night of laughing, crying, sharing, and bonding, “Guys… were going to be friends for the rest of our lives.” And we will be, because amidst the sad and dark terrors we learn and hear about everyday, little lights shine… growing everyday. The flames of hope. The flames of friendship. And that friendship is not going anywhere, cause friends like these are not easy to find. Gotta keep them close.“For it won’t be long, Till I’m gonna need, somebody to lean on” … And when I do need somebody to lean on… I know I’ll always have those crazy RL maniacs by my side. Friends.
