One Year Mark

This September marks the one year mark since we launched Reach Lesotho. It’s an exciting milestone to reach, especially looking back on how much as been accomplished in just one year. Yet, there is no comparison for the year that we are beginning. In the next twelve months, we will launch our community mentorship program, begin video blogging, participate in a half marathon, hold the second annual Gathering of Hope and share our message of hope with an even younger audience.
On September 12th, students, parents, organizers, educators and mentors are coming together. The students will learn who their community mentor will be at this meeting and they will also be introduced to the twelve selected students from Hlotse Secondary School. As the planning progresses well, our focus for the next four months is put on fundraising, to ensure that this project is able to run exactly how it was planned.
We have had many donate or commit to donating $280, and I recently made my own personal contribution to the 280 x 280 Challenge. We are initiating discussions with many corporations and our students will be fundraising by holding an event and participating in the Guelph half marathon. I urge our supporters to share this project with others – friends and families – so that we can make it a true success. Reach Lesotho has the potential to inspire students across Canada to join the fight against HIV/AIDS, but we need your help.
