I was born in Guelph, Ontario; the youngest of five children. My family goes camping, hiking and kayaking in Algonquin Park every summer. This has shown me the power and peacefulness of nature. I went through a life changing experience when I was eight years old. This experience taught me more about love, kindness and compassion. I learned it's okay to hurt and to learn from experiences. I grew up maybe a little too quick, but I am grateful today for that experience. I love music and have a very spiritual outlook on life. Giving what I can to help those in need helps me. I have worked at a small diner for three years and truly enjoy it. I am so grateful for the opportunity Reach Lesotho has given me. Working with the Reach Lesotho family is a dream come true and I know it’s the path my life was meant to follow. |

In this blog, Victoria returns to a piece she wrote during the summer while staying with a family friend. “It is inspired by a man who is losing all he knows about life. This brought a big change to myself and my thoughts about growing old. His name is Louis. He is 90 years old and has troubles hearing, seeing and walking. He speaks about being afraid of not being able to see.” (Continue…)
